Hello everybody, hope you’re all safe. I recently bought off a fellow luthier's stock. There are big plastic jars of ColorTone compounds which have dried and slightly shrunk from the sides, say about ¼ " all around. Can this stuff be rehydrated in any way or do I just have to toss it off? Can I use it as is to load on buffing wheels? Thanks for your ideas, you’re the greatest bunch of people. Keep safe. Pierre |

IT is water based though right? So it might be worth a try. Of course always test your results though. |

Just so you know, Larry Anderson at SM answered about those compounds : "Use mineral spirits to thin the compounds if they have dried out. Those are not waterbased. " Pierre |
